I received my new 30 gig Neuros II yesterday, and I really like it! The only problem I've had so far is that today at work it locked up twice. Is this normal, or is my player on the verge of failure? The other thing that bugged me is that both times, after rebooting according to the troubleshooting guide (play + up), the player took around 30 seconds to respond to the power button and come back on. Is that supposed to happen?

Also, there's a feature that I can't find documentation for, called "DJ Control." There's a speed slider that has an obvious function, but there's another control in there that's a mystery to me ("A/B On/Off"). What's it do?

Oh, Jesus.

That doesn't sound good. The most common fix for a problem is the NAND format and in most cases it helps. If your Neuros starts to lock up more frequently, you may have to send it back. I just hope that this isn't the beginning of another batch of bad units. I'm crossing my fingers. In the meantime, go ahead and do the format NAND thing. Oh, and I should describe how to do that in case you don't know. With the player turned off press and hold presets 1 and 5 and press play. You will then be in the diagnostics menu. Choose format NAND and not hard drive unless the NAND format doesn't fix it or you just feel like reloading your music onto the Neuros.

What were you doing when the lockups ocurred. Navigating menus, listening to music, both, mp3/ogg/wmv. You should really give more info.

the a and b in the dj controls are the loop points. Go to A/B and hit up or down to turn it on. hit right to set point a and right again to set point b. the player will then loop that section.
