Is it possible? I found an adaptor from 2.5 to 3.5 (some guy detailed modification of his mac mini to 3.5), it would be easy enuf to hookup power, etc.

But, would it work? This is an N1 we are talking about and I remember it used to have a software problem recognizing larger than 80gb drives, but I thought that had been remedied? Would it recognize a 300 gb harddrive?

What I had in mind was a 300gb boombox with N1 permanently attached as the brains. I assume I would open the backpack, remove the drive (which I upgraded previously) and simply attach the new cable where the drive once was, since the N1 brain would still require the backpack for power. Ot perhaps I could rig some docking mechanism which would still allow it to be detached and used with the 2.5" as always. The rest is pretty obvious. Any thoughts?

The FAT32 filesystem that the Neuros uses will only be able to partition about 127GB of the drive. You'd have to either make multiple partitions or get a smaller drive.

Whether or not the Neuros can read over 80GB I really can't tell you.
