I think I accidentally shipped my USB 2.0 cable when I sold my digital camera.
Now I have bought already my second cable and it will still not fit.

After reading thru the forums, I finally found that this cable is a proprietary cable.
Why in the world would someone use a weird connector like this?
USB is a world wide standard and has also standard connectors.

I would think that this makes the product more expensive and does not make any sense to me.
A standard 4 pin mini USB plug would have work just fine!

I check for that cable here and they say it ships within 2-3 business days, that’s crazy.

Does anybody know if it can be bought somewhere else?

Can you post a picture of the connector?

Yes, as soon as I get my cable, which will take about 1 week. I had no choice (I guess that's what they want.) I have to pay $29.90 for a stu*id USB cable and have to wait an estimated week to get it (2-3 days till shipping, Fedex 2nd day shipping).

If they made a design mistake, they should at least sell the cables A.S.A.P and without profit. Why do we have to pay for their mistake?

Got my cable! Along with the cable I also received a leather protection case for my Neuros!!!!!!
My respect for those guys, they know that the connector is
non-standard and that they made a mistake, but nobody
would ever go that far to add something extra.

Thank You NeurosAudio.com

you know..the cable actually isnt proprietary. My girlfriend has a digital camera that uses the exact same cable. while I didnt try and use hers for the neuros, it looks identical with the damn near microscopic connector on one end

I cant remember the camera manufacturer, nor the cable (we split up and live in different states now) but Im certain it was the same and would have worked.

yes, it was stupid of them to use that cable. Im actually kinda glad I picked up an iRiver for a good price for a few reasons, this being one of them.

The connector on the Neuros itself (and on the Neuros HD) is a standard USB B-Mini connector. My dad's digital camera has one also and I sold quite a few of them when I worked at a computer store last summer.

The USB2.0 connector is said to be different, but I've never seen it. That's why I wanted to see a picture--just in case it isn't really proprietary but may be hard to find nonetheless.

the connector is completly rectangular and about the size of an small firewire plug...
i'f got something ALMOST like it, called "usb mini 4 pin" but it's not a perfect mach, so no luck...
guess i'll just hope mine won't break... stupid me, i should have asked for one when i send in my neuros for a warranty repair :P
