Hi there, does anyone know whether it's planned for the Neuros III to have a storage card slot. I just crashed my third HDD an wanted to buy a new Neuros bundle in order to switch between flash and HDD storage depending on where to use the Neuros. Now the Neuros II being discontinued I wonder if the N3 will provide this possibility??? |

I don't think so at this point, simply because NA wants to keep the size down while fitting in all the essentials (fm reciever/transmitter, 1.8" HD, etc)

Well, I think size isn't everything. (that's at least what my girl friend says ;-) What made the Neuros unique besides FM transmitting etc. was the possibility to switch between the HDD and the Flash based storage according to which usage it would fit! Besides with a 1.8" HDD with it's, up to now, 60 GB limit Neuros gives up it's other GREAT advantage of extensive capacity. I think I'll have to try to get hold of a Neuors II 80 GB bundle wherever I find one ;-(
What just came to my mind: if a card slot takes to much space - shouldn't it be possible to provide further Neuros editions with additional, let's say, 512 MB of flash memory to store one's top ten (better "top somehundred") and a feature to disable the HDD in rough environment?

What I would like to see is: replace the existing flash unit with a USB plug which supports common USB keydrives. They are rapidly increasing in capacity and coming down in price.

| an sd card wont cost you much more than a usb drive of the same size and the size is so much smaller. to work with a usb drive, they'd have to put a full size usb port on there and those take up alot more room too. |

This may be true, but I can read/write a standard keydrive with any pc that I happen to be on. The same cannot be said for the SD card.
The size of the keydrive is not so great that I am concerned about it. |

if you're looking to leave the songs on the flash medium. a card is much more practical. with a usb key, you'd have this thing sticking at least an inch straight out from the player. a card would fit inside and add no volume to the player.
If you're looking to transfer songs from the key to the hard drive, why not get a small retractable sync cable instead. That way you wouldnt have to transfer from computer to key and then key to neuros. that would take twice as long as just going computer to neuros with a cable |
