When I turn on my 442 normally I see the battery indicator...if I plug in the usb while it is already on, the batter indicator remains on the screen.
However, if I have the 442 off, plug in the usb, THEN turn on the player, the battery indicator is not displayed.
Does the usb power the 442 when it is plugged in? or is the battery still being used...I just can't see the level??
----- update ----- Battery just died while plugged into the usb...so usb does not power the 442 when it is plugged in (would be a nice feature in the future)

My biggest initial gripe was the total absence of any documentation for the battery charging cycle; how long, indication, anything; good thing there was at least a residual charge to get it going for a quick thrill.
Not bus powered? Bad.
