I read about this under a different topic, but my circumstances are a bit different, so perhaps it needs its own topic...
I was watching about 45 minutes of video before bed last night, shut the unit off, and plugged it into the charger. I'd used it on several occasions over the course of the day (cuz I love it) and the battery had gotten down to about as low as I've seen mine get (less that 1/3 of a charge left). It was in the case while charging overnight.
This morning, I unplugged it, stowed it in my bag, and headed out the door. When I got on the train, I pulled it out to watch more video and that baby was HOT. Not too hot to touch, but much hotter than it would be sitting in my lap or while running. What's more, it would not boot up. Very faint lines were visible on the screen when I tried to power it up, but no start-up screen. I had to do a reset (which I seem to have to do about every other day anyway for some reason).
I'll look up the other post that reported the heat issue for refernce, but if I remember correctly, the unit's hard drive had been spinning after a timed recording and while plugged in to the AC. I did not notice any vibrations when I unplugged mine and put it in my bag, but again, it was in the case so I might not have felt it. |

| Sorry to hear about your player, ive never experienced that, but you might want to call the support line (866-563-8767) and ask about it, maybe they have to send you a replacement. Worth a shot. |

The hard drive was most likely still spinning. You can not really hear it unless you put your hear on the back of the machine.

well, I seem to be collecting issues with my unit.. (check my other posts if you want :) )
This has happened to me about twice or three times in the past week. Never did before.
I didn't think of reseting it. So I basically drained the battery to nothing, and then it would work again after a recharge. I think.
I'm still not quite sure of why it worked again or not.. at one point, it powered on, and shut down a few seconds later, the battery being empty (but it didn't even have time to flash the "low battery" message)
But I did think of putting my ear on the back of the unit, and whereas usually you can easily hear the hard drive spinning, I couldn't hear anything. Maybe the spinning sound was really very low, but I kind of doubt it..
Well, if it can help to solve the issue..
