The Recorder-II is a great gadget but is it possible to record from NTSC and PAL sources? Are there EU- and US-Versions of the recorder or is it everywhere the same? Do I need the European Scart Cable for PAL-Recordings?

Yes, you can recorder from NTSC and Pal sources. We have units with scart cable for the european market (one for the UK and one for the rest of europe) . Note that the recorder is not compatible with the Secam standard used in France.
