I'm anxiously awaiting my new Neuros in the mail....unfortunately my last one was stolen. Anyway, I am trying to build a database in NSM of my current library, and it will not let me add any entries to the database unless I have a neuros plugged in... I'm trying to save myself some time here, so that when my new unit arrives, all i have to do is sync it instead of waiting for nsm to add all my song to the database....any suggestions as to how i can prepare my 70+ gig library for syncing without actually having my neuros.....?????

Thanks,

-S

Would you be opposed to using a different program? If not, then you should check out Sorune ( www.sorune.com ) and NeurosDBM ( http://neurosdbm.sourceforge.net/ ). You can use these programs like NSM and sync to the Neuros, but that may not be best for you.

If you get those programs, just copy your music through your file browser right into the Music directory on the Neuros (like any normal external hard drive). Then, go into the program and tell it to rebuild the database (Alt + R in NDBM; don't know for Sorune). That should only take you a few minutes and you don't have to organize anything! My music directory on my Neuros looks just like the one on my computer.

The intial setup requires the unit and the serial number. You will not be able to do this without the unit.
