Hello,
Sorry for my bad English,
In first I would like to say that I am very admiring by NeurosAudio and his manner to work with community! It's formidable! Joe Born is the most innovating director that I never seen!
I look since 10 months the discution about the futur audio player N3, and I am very enthousiasted by his specifications always refreshed on Wiki.
I think more and more that You are able to create the most innovating player audio of the world.
The really problem in the hard concurrence in this business, is the rapidity innovating product of market... The N3 is yet ready for somme years, but you could again extend his longevity, So that is 3 puncts perhaps little utopian today, but Who do you devine it tomorrow?
- the future is at the movable internet, with Wimax possibility. Radio Shootcast and Icecast are a formidable mean to listen and broadcast audio in the entire world! In 2006 and 2007, The Wimax will go in a lot of product mobile, with the norme 802.16e. Why not at least reflect about a possible integration of this norme in N3? for a longevity assured? in futur? Also a portable device can be a mean useful to locate us, accasionaly. But not GPS for N3 of course ;) But with Wimax, a day we could perhaps locate us in the globe! look that: http://news.com.com/Intel experiments with Wi-Fi as GPS substitute/2100-7351_3-5785565.html
- Oled screen! less gourmant in energy... But it has yet been to discuss.
- Why not a hard disk dismountable? for a day replace that by a flash memory, more sparing, and less noisy (to recoder with microphone in silence ;)
Again sorry for my bad english
- Goodbye ;) |

I think wimax technology is still too new to be put into the N3. It will probably be a few years before it catches on. By that time, we'll be talking about the N4. Bluetooth is being discussed though.
They tried the dismountable hard drive with the N1 and N2 and it made the player bigger than it needed to be. They are looking to make the size more manageable in the N3.
I don't know what kind of screen they're going to use. |

yes, you have reason for the dismountable hard drive. In fact, it could be just a hard drive connected... Not a system to remove manually the disk drive. Like That Handyman will be able to change the disk drive with a screwdriver. Perhaps that All audio play allows that.. I d'ont knowk I would like just that the hard drive wouldn't "definitively fixed" on his connected port...
It's true, Wimax is a technology not enough mast. But the N3 is waited for more one year. And I think that its gone out will be again waited a long moment. NeurosAudio would like THE ULTIMATE player Audio with N3! It's an idea Incredible! A risky wager!
Consequently, the N4 will be more longer that N3 to go out. My topic speaks about exactly three puncts, a little utopian today, to extend longevity enormously of N3. Wimax will be the futur for radio I think, with information on currently song playing (more easier that R.D.S. system!). A screen Oled looks be a solution for the futur (more longer power fuel, and more readable).
But Of course this ideas are a little premature, but if the hardware is yet actually, we could devellop gradually the corresponding software.
Wait & see... N3, N4 |
