My understanding is that the QVGA resolution was chosen because it was ideal for PDAs. This made sense to me, until I noticed... the resolution is not QVGA!
On my Neuros Recorder 1, it is actually 352x240, not 320x240. Although this sounds like an improvement, it causes the resulting video to have a different aspect ratio than a PocketPC screen, so the entire video gets scaled down, wasting screen space.
I feel like I must be missing something here. I checked the resolution options, and "320x240" is not one of them. I also don't know of a way to make TCPMP just cut off 32 columns of pixels rather than scaling, although I'm not sure this is such a great idea anyway. |
