Even though the Phoronix forum posted an article a few months back that Flash 10.1 would have VDPAU support, I can say after testing the pre-release of 10.1 that it does not for Linux.

This really sucks since I was finally hoping for some GPU acceleration for Flash.

Anyone tried out Gnash? I read an article that stated it has support for VA-API which has a backend to VDPAU.

I think the combination of Lightspark & Gnash are being peddled as the future of open source Flash support.

Gnash supports earlier Actionscript, and Lightspark the latest. Lightspark also has improving support for web video. I've not tried it yet tho.
