Hi all,

I've bought OSD here in the UK (used) back in 2008, never used it properly. Now I moved house and in the process of re-creating the home cinema setup.

Seems a good time to revisit this device and see whether I can still use it.

I haven't yet plugged it in and see what state is in, browsing a bit here it seems the consensus is to use the OSng branch, is that correct?

If I buy a 16GB CompactFlash, I've noted you can create a directory there for OSng to store recordings etc, is that correct?

Thanks!

Not done much with OSDng, but if you're a tinkerer that does seem the way to go.

And yes, you can partition the CF card to hold OSDng and have space for recording.

I would like to point out, however, that with Arizona or OSDng, the CF card holds a mounted filesystem. You can't, therefore, extract it to watch the recordings on another computer while the OSD is 'on'. Think of it akin to pulling out your harddisc while Windows is running. It wouldn't be pretty.
