Using Neuros OSD as a Security Camera DVR?

Since I have a newer DVR that records in HD, I've had this thing sitting around for a couple of years with zero use. I was trying to think of a good use for it, and I thought it might make a good DVR for a home security camera when I go out of town!

Does anyone know of an existing program that could use the capture device for a video camera? Preferably one that could detect motion and only record if needed would be awesome! Even better, it could email you or FTP files to a web server for remote monitoring :-)

I've not heard of anyone being quite that fancy with it, but it does have the ability to record to a SMB (Windows Share) network drive, so you could have that computer either share the folder across your home router or throw files up on an FTP for you.

Thanks. I ended up just buying a Foscam networked security cam :-/

Although later when I have more time, I still might look into maybe just setting up the Neuros OSD for a timed recording every so often. Then I suppose I could run a simple script to grab/ftp the video files.
