So, imagine that some of us owners are software engineers. What can we do on the Neuros 442? How can we develop software or modify what's there?

Just curious.

Its my understanding you need to get the Developer board with the new hardware platform that will support open source.

thats funny, usually a hacker does not ask how to hack...he figures it out through trial and error...but i guess you probobly dont want to toy around with $300   Smiley

JEFFH is right, you should look into getting the developper board. As Joe mentionned in another post, you should not crack open you current 442. [Wink]

My suggestion is that Neuros release a script interpreter that exposes most of the functionality of the device, so we can write gadgets and menu systems without having to update the firmware.

I am a hardware guy, looking to hook up with a software writer.
I have a 442 to hack, any volunteers?

I think the most important advantage of Neuros 442 is that you can store and view/listen media files without worrying about file format compatibility. I am at a loss to understand why so many people are interested in hacking this beautiful multimedia device and thereby destroying it. I personally feel that they should concentrate on making maximum use of it because they have already spent $300 for acquiring it. I would like to remind him that being a software engineer does not mean that he can hack anything.
