I am thinking of purchasing the Neuros OSD and want to use it with a DLink Nas that is Networked through my Netgear Router.At present I have a media Player that has an IP address and plays files fine. The Dlink Nas is Formatted at EXT2 . Will this allow me to record with the OSD. Thanks

Hey there,
I do believe there are issues with the OSD connecting to this Dlink model. A bug has been filed and hopefully it'll be solved soon.

Just to let you all know, i have the DLink DNS323 connected to the OSD and am able to playback video.It sees the connection very well and can browse.I did not even mount the shares.
But when i tried to record, it did not work.
I will there fore try to Telnet into OSD this weeked and see if i can get it to work.

Yay! Glad to hear it works!
What error do you get when you try to record? Have you selected the record destination correctly?

(Hint: use the right arrow to navigate into folders, & use the OK button only to select this folder to record into)

I am having a similar problem with a DNS323.  I can play back videos from it; but cannot record to it.  The error message that I am seeing is:

"Can't save to the current folder!"

I can fully access it from my laptop; but not the OSD.

Is there an option for security and sharing where you have to allow users on the network to modify files? I had the same message on windows XP, I could playback files from my PC just fine, but could not record to it. Once I allowed network users full access (to modify and edit files), the recording worked out right away.

Yes,  there is an option.  I currently have it set so that everyone has read/write privileges.  I think (but I am not sure) that this is the default configuration.

No that's not the default configuration, you have to specifically check a second box.
