I updated the firmware to 3.33-1.41

The Youtube browser interface is better as its now much much easier to search for videos than the previous method od pressing the keys several times to get a different character.

Unfortunately despite being able to search for a video and it displaying the results I can't play a video, the 'loading player' box appears but never actually stops and I have have to reset the OSD.

More alarmingly though I can't update to the new Beta firmware either.  The Neuros detects that the new firmware is 3.33-1.44 but when I try to download it, it doesn't work. Same thing again - 'downloading...' but it doesn't actually look like its doing anything and then after a couple of minutes it suggests theres an internet connection problem.

Not sure what could be the problem here - its obviously able to use the connection because it detects new firmware being available. Also it searches youtube, but it just can't actually play a video.

Any ideas anyone? I'm a bit fearful I might not be able to update the firmware anymore Sad

You can always manually download firmware and update/downgrade the OSD yourself. Place the .upk file somewhere the OSD can see, then just select it on the OSD and an "Upgrade firmware" selection will appear. That's all you need to do.

Since you can search for Youtube videos, your internet connection must be working. I'm not sure about the autoupdate thing though, perhaps the servers are a bit slow at the moment as Sean said.

Looks like I have fixed it now although I really don't know why this has happened.

When you update firmware do you have to reconfigure your network settings? Because thats what I have had to do. For some reason it wasn't set to fixed IP address and also the DNS server was set to my router IP address when it should have been the DNS server of my ISP. I noticed it when I logged onto my network with my laptop and windows told me their was an IP confliction and low and behold the Neuros was now using an automatically assigned IP.

Downloading new firmware as we speak! Smiley

Thanks for your suggestions as ever guys - you all rock.

Again, unusual. Your network settings should be preserved when you upgrade.

(All you configuration settings are stored on a read/write partition mounted at /mnt/OSD. This is usually never touched by an firmware change). The only idea I would have is that you downgraded to a version of the firmware that uses different configuration files (so the OSD tries the default DHCP)??
