I have a storage server running FreeNAS and I'm looking for an extender to sit in my TV room and pull video/audio/images from it.
I may be streaming HD Video's from the NAS in the future so does it support this? Also could I plug a HD Cable tuner into the OSD and record shows/movies straight to my NAS?

Also will I be able to record HD straight from HD channels? As far as i can see the device only has the VGA component (Red/White/Yellow) cables and not the HD Component(Red/Blue/Green) or does it use Coax?

The OSD does not support HD recording or HD playback. It is meant to make your content "portable and easily editable" so to speak. We record files in the MPEG4 format to make it easy to edit, store and playback  on your TV but also on other devices (pc/laptops, portables like the PSP, iPod or Smartphones).  Although HD is becoming popular, HD content is tied to your entertainment center in your living room (as a matter of fact any HD DVR will use DRM on the recorded content for it to stay on included HDD it was recorded on).

You will be able to record and playback  standard  content (up to D1 resolution) directly to a NAS . There is an S-Video and RCA input and RCA output.

You can record anything that comes into the composite jacks.
