Hello All..
I just wanted to post that Verizon's New Lg Voyager plays back the files created by the OSD .
The formats it accepts thus far are in PSP/ipod/smartphone
with these settings for optimal viewing.
320X240 Fps @ 786 Kbps encoding
64kbps in  AAC audio encoding
Tested recoding 2 hours straight with no audio unsynching in psp format. Still testing in the Ipod and smartphone setting.

** Update**( I tired recording in 25  fps and the small lag or jump in the video is annoying at best .. Still you could record  25 fps mode .  Encoding at 1200 kbps in video bitrate only ends up in the video not showing and audio only being played. Curios;u enough the smaller speakers on the voayger are nearly twice as loud as my psp..so sound is pretty good for such a small device. )***

FWD or RWD in drag (only when dragging the bar to get to a previous viewed point.. no bookmark dang it! )  mode causes audio lag.. you can fix it by pausing then holding the rewind for a few seconds then play and the audio/video resynch. I am hoping the next FW on the Phone from Verizon fix this.

** The new firmware allows for a larger viewable area on the front and inside of the phone.  Video fwd/rwd now has the bead on the timeline only for verizon's video content if you download or view it. Otherwise videos you load do not and you have to progressively try and find your last point played by dragging your finger back and forth.. just without the precision the beaded timeline gives you. Still no bookmark for videos. **

Overall though the playback is smooth and looks great! The voyage is no Iphone but it is a nice progressive step for them and Makes me happy as I no longer have to lug my psp about to watch video!

Just thought I would share!

great news, I assume the above means you can just record the files directly to the memory card, and no conversion etc, no PC?  Any tricks folks need to know about?

Yessir.. The files can be recorded directly to the "My flix"  file on the micro sd using the SS card adapter  and named whatever so long as it is under 25 characters..  and it will play back.  No needed tricks other than the settings I suggest. Very clear and clean.
I personally use super to re-encode the files to a smaller files size... saving about 200-350 mb foe storage.. with barely noticeable loss of quality. Still for on demand recording.. you cannot beat what the osd can do for you to watch content on the Voyager..

It is great!  I now just record my shows while I sleep and watch them on the graveyard shift when it is dead or slow...

Just a small update: The Osd recognized( without rebooting to recognize it, just pop in  or eject it to remove it )  my minisd HC card in a generic sdhc reader through the OSD's usb port.  I now can record directly to the card and simply pop it in my voyager  and play. Before I had to record on a usb card.. then use the pc to transfer to the minisd/transflash card.  Although the videos must be saved in the "my_flix " folder for it to recognize the file. That is the default folder the phone makes when you format the card anyways.
