I believe doing a HD format via the 1+5+play sequence will restore the special files so that the sync manager will work.

Disconnect the Neuros from your PC
Power off the Neuros
Press and hold presets 1+5 and press play
Do the NAND and HD format and then exit
Reconnect to your PC
See if the files are on the Neuros
If they are, try NSM again

Are you looking at the Albums listing?

The Artists listing sorts songs alphabetically. The Albums listing sorts by track number.

Neuros Audio -> Albums -> Artists -> Pick an artist -> Pick an album

That navigation should show it in track order.

I don't know why the built in HDD format wouldn't work, but you may want to try using mkfs.vfat. If you try that, be sure to copy those 3 files somewhere. If the mkfs.vfat works, you'll need to restore those files back to the Neuros.

soulrebeljc:

Your problem sounds like what I see when the NAND memory isn't refreshed properly after a sync. The fix is to reformat it. This is assuming you have a hard drive based player (20+ GB). Once the NAND is reformatted, it will be rebuilt from what's on the hard drive and you should be able to see/play your newly added items.

To reformat NAND:
  1) power off the unit
  2) press and hold presets 1+5 and press play
  3) follow the menu instructions to reformat NAND

Are you using the sync mount option? This causes the writes to be done synchronously which means your transfer program won't complete until the writes to the Neuros are complete.

Here's my fstab entry:
/dev/sda1 /mnt/neuros vfat noauto,noatime,umask=022,user,exec,sync,shortname=winnt 0 0
