I recently purchased a Neuoros MP3 Player, 80 gig neuros 2, about a week agoon eBay. I ripped all the music off of my extensive CD collection using Windows Media Player, and and then Imported the playlist to the Neuros Sync Manager. Then I pressed "Synchronize" and all of the songs seemed to have uploaded onto the device correctly. However, whenever I attempt to play a song, it freezes. The device WILL play a FEW songs, like 20 songs or so, but every other song freezes and I end up having to restart the unit by pressing the up arrow & the on/off button. Didn't know if I was the only one experiencing these sorts of problems. This is VERY frustrating and any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Mine does not freeze, but it pauses occasionally as if it were buffering a song that was streaming. Any way to remedy this?

Hmmm...I get occansional skips in mine when listening to it for a while.  I assume this has to do with buffering as well.  It doesn't happen too often so I can't tell if it skips at regular intervals or not.

Mine's done this a month or so after I got it back from support in July.  It's not something that's huge so I didn't send it back for the 3rd time (my warranty is over now anyway).  I have a Neuros HD 20GB (the old gray one).

I am having exactly the same problems as Curt (#1).  The first set of songs I loaded were not in a playlist in Sync manager.  They play fine (12 songs.)  Then I created some playlists and Synced then.  The unit recognizes the songs when I scan through Neuros Audio, but it won't play any of them.  It freezes and I have to use the Up and Play combo to shut the player off.  It also won't recognize any of my playlists - says "No records available!" (and yet it recognizes also the songs I put into the playlists as individual songs through Neuros Audio.)

I tried to reSync and still have the same problems.  I see that nobody has responded to Curt with a solution.  Hopefully this isn't money wasted, as I have been really looking forward to using this product.

soulrebeljc:

Your problem sounds like what I see when the NAND memory isn't refreshed properly after a sync. The fix is to reformat it. This is assuming you have a hard drive based player (20+ GB). Once the NAND is reformatted, it will be rebuilt from what's on the hard drive and you should be able to see/play your newly added items.

To reformat NAND:
  1) power off the unit
  2) press and hold presets 1+5 and press play
  3) follow the menu instructions to reformat NAND
