not sure about the file managers, but there are several programs out there that will enable you to quickly change your tags.
try, 'tag and rename', and 'the godfather' both are good for editing tags, and tag and rename will allow you to create tags from filenames and vice versa...they are very handy tools and they may help you. i used them to quickly alter about 1000 songs.

be patient, i know its hard, but well engineered products take time. Also, it seems that right now the focus is on the R3 and 442v2. but i suspect that it wont be much longer before more resources start to shift to the N3

i doubt any of those will work since I think they all use some sort of DRM protection that the current Neuros does not support. the N3 will likely have support for at least some of these

if you are using neuros sync manager, plug in the unit and and tell the sync program to look for orphan or lost files (in a menu at the top). if this does not work you might try formatting the nand and trying again. search the forums for formatting the nand

does this sound like an old problem to anyone? didnt giving the unit a little smack usually fix this?
I would try giving the unit a slight smack on the side, if the hard drive is stuck this will fix it. I know this technique has been used a lot before...
P.S. - dont hammer on the thing either, give it a good smug thud, but nothing too hard.

uninstall the usb 2 drivers in the device manager and then restart. windows xp will reinstall them when you restart. If you have USB 2.0 ports it will say something along the lines of standard enhanced pci-usb controller (the key word being "enhanced") in the device manager. Do you have any other USB 2 devices you can plug in to check to see if the USB 2 drivers are working? Sometimes windows likes to be stupid. i have actually run into this before somewhere along the line. if this does not work, i would try re-installing NSM... or better yet. install NDBM instead: http://neurosdbm.sourceforge.net/goodluck! if your willing to take it apart, you might as well. the keypad may have popped out of place or something. its worth a try. that would be my suggestion. but i would call support first to see if there is anything they can suggest.

not necessarily the HD, it may have just been that particular unit. It seems to be a problem when the unit gets too low on power and tries to start, even when plugged in.
