Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - Feedback & Discussion / Re: V-Mate - Competition from SanDisk?

No set pricing? Nor wether it would let you record from items that would possibly have copy protection, such as a dvd or the flagged tivo and dvr shows coming next year? I doubt they will as Sony's avc recorder does not.. nor ADS's dvdexpress dx2. It cuts out entirely as I had it. I would hope a larger corporation like sandisk would allow you to record whatever you want, but I truly do not think they will allow what we get here on the recorder 2 and OSD (if it retains the same recording rights as the current NR2) . That is not to say that it may not, but for now as much as people complain about it... The folks at Neuros provide great support for a great product. I am waiting for the OSD and to see what can be done with it. Yet if the sandisk records in realtime AVC, Neuros may be in trouble.

Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: PSP 2.8

Upgraded after seeing my friend did and used the recorder 2 files on his psp work. So far they work perfectly. I get a kick out of being able to rename my mp4 from the nr2 , and being able to name it like.. BladetheseriesS1E6.mp4 and the VIDEO folder and that the psp recognizes and plays it. MV400001 and MAQ10001 files (like those transcoded by pspvideo9 ) have to stay in their respective folders to work though.. Still a small tep for sony that helps make things alot more organized in how you can read what is on your mem stick.. for mp4 of course. So frommy experience it is safe.. I did it as the new games I will want will be needing the new dang firmware.. but was hoping not to lose the NR2's on the fly recording. Good to see we did not.

No, I do not think you can. With the vobs you need to transcode them to a file format you want to use.. Ie. Avi, mpg4,wm, mpeg 1, etc.. The recorder2 only makes whatever line in video/audio to psp or ipod format. It is not a tranbscoder like pspvideo 9 or super.. or 3gp. It is just like a vcr.. for our psp and vid ipod. Sorry I could not help you more.

Guess I will be a test subject for thenew firmware and report back to verify the info. -AcTs

Alot of folks have.. try rotating the cables, and in some cases make sure the recorder is not plugged into the same outlet as your recording source. Otherwise you may need to contact Neuros like I had to and see what they can do to help you out. Mine was so bad that they sent me a replacement. Something to do with inadequate shielding with my unit. Great customer service though.. FJ and the crew here really do go the extra mile. I have no regrets with my purchase. This recorder is golden once you get it going, especially with the firmware updates.

Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: PSP 2.7 problem?

WOW.. I recorded Blade the series last Night ( great beginning BTW, it has alot of great potential if they do it right.) The file size with my NR2 was 787mb, using super.. I used avc settings and the file shrank down to 275mb, with a great looking picture. Now mind you I used normal psp record settings in the Neuros ,and it still looked great compared to the original! I like the potential of the NR2 using The super file conversion program to AVC everything now.. I rely mostly on psp video 9.. but it does not work on files generated by the NR2. Super does.
On the other note.. I was wondering if anyone had the problems of the fellow about 2 posts above me which he states some weird message about content. Man I hope Sony is not screwing with us again. Not when this is all working too good. This is whY i refuse to upgrade now. I will stay on 2.70 firmware.

Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: 4 gb microdrive

Sounds like you hae the problem I have as well. My hitachi 4 gb will not be seen by the recorder 2, as well as my other 5 gb seagate microdrive. Then i read North's post as to the difference in teh formats that the company uses for the cards. They have a compactflash directory setup specifically for the storage cards that are used for storing all media and can be used and seen by the recorder2. Then there is the one like the one I have that came out of my psp datel 4 gb hd. The structure was designed for a specific use. much like mp3 players.... they can be seen by computers.. but not other devices.. like the recorder.. Yeah I know it is confusing. Find North's postings in here about the microdrive.. good read.. and explains it waaaay better than I just did. Hey I tried.. [ ]
