1  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / HandBrake on: April 17, 2006, 12:01:15 PM
I can't figure out what settings to use with HandBrake to make .mp4 files compatibles with the Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2...

The file plays, the audio plays, but there's no video!

I tried 320x176, 352x192 (widescreen content) even 320x240 (vertically stretched widescreen contant)

I tried XviD and FFmpeg, different video bitrates (256kbps, 512kbps, etc), different framerates (tried 23.98 and 29.97).

I always get a black screen with the rotating timer in the middle. But the audio always play, the file starts playing again when it ends, etc.

Anyone knows what the problem is? Why is there no video?! And please, no "use the AVI format" comments...

There's also 4GB and 8GB CompactFlash cards, but as the others said, 16GB and 32GB cards (in any format) aren't for 2006 IMO.

Hard disks work in ATA mode, CF cards/microdrives can work in ATA or TrueIDE... (if I understand you correctly).

But what does the Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2 supports? Has anyone else tried to use the adapter I mentionned above to connect a hard drive to his Neuros?

Can the Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2 support a regular IDE hard disk? (with an adapter from Advantech and external power supply, of course)

I've read a lot of "ATA vs TrueIDE" replies, but nobody mentions what the Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2 supports...

Does the Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2 supports 20GB or 40GB drives? I plan on buying this adapter and use the Neuros with a hard drive instead of a CompactFlash card.

Wow, thanks for all the infos and links, everyone.

Funny thing is, I now have a 40GB drive lying around doing nothing. Cheesy

Not anymore, I guess!

7  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - Feedback & Discussion / IDE to CompactFlash adapters? on: December 16, 2005, 04:14:34 PM
Is there such a thing as an IDE to CompactFlash adapter? No, I'm not talking about a CompactFlash to IDE adapter.

I'm wondering if it'd be possible to interface the Neuros MPEG-4 Record 2 to a 2.5" or 3.5" hard drive. Yes, CompactFlash prices are going down, but 2GB and 4GB cards are still very expensive. Being able to connect an old 40GB or 80GB hard drive to the Neuros would allow for extremely long recording times, even at best quality settings.

Since CompactFlash to IDE adapters exist, I'm guessing the opposite is possible too. Has anyone ever seen something about this? (even a hacker page)

Is there a way to connect a regular desktop (3.5" or 2.5") drive to the Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2, with something like a CompactFlash to IDE adapter?

Does the Neuros MPEG-4 Record 2 support MicroDrives?

I can't format the cards because the unit doesn't see them... The 512MB card works fine.

Just opened the box, plugged everything... But it just won't recognize three of my four CompactFlash cards (tried a 15MB, a 128MB, a 256MB and a 512MB... All SanDisk and Lexar). Only the 512MB is recognized by the unit...

What's the problem?!
