1  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - Feedback & Discussion / Re: PSP firmware 2.8 works w/r2 recordings on: August 16, 2006, 01:04:40 PM
Thanks for posting this--I was wondering about this topic when I got notification from sony re: the latest software

As far as I know, there's no way to avoid commercials---like a vcr, it records what's playing. As far as on demand, if it's playing on your tv, you can pretty much record it.
3  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: simple record - file size limit? on: May 26, 2006, 01:33:34 PM
This is the topic referred to in a couple of other threads (usually under a title similar to '2-hour time limit) The system automatically will break a file into two parts at the two hour mark. Here's a link to one of the threads.

Hope this helps

Gotta agree with neo---the settings available for recordings viewed on the psp are fine. The quality comes out great for watching on the train, plane, or whatever. It's a great gadget.

Try following the steps in this --even though it's a how-to for getting video from the recorder to an ipod, the first parts of it should help you out (I hope).

I definitely vote on having a light telling you it's powered on (besides the green one)--either that, or make the green light indicate the power is on rather than confirming that it's receiving power.
7  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: Newbie Connection Difficulty on: March 28, 2006, 06:54:32 AM
After much research, I've figured out that it's the recorder that's not working correctly--particularly the timer feature. My boss has one of these too so I was able to compare notes with setting up the timer, and with the tv on or off, it won't start recording. If I press the record button or auto record function, it works great. Now I have to go about getting it exchanged.

no--I made sure that was off (it starts up right away if it's on)
9  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: Newbie Connection Difficulty on: March 27, 2006, 09:56:49 AM
that's ok--I understand the need to narrow down what's happening. To answer your question--yes, the clock is set correctly. I was messing with it again this weekend, and as in my earlier posts, it's fine except for timer recordings. It's driving me nuts because I'm usually pretty decent at figuring this stuff out, but...

just checking back as there haven't been any further responses to this.

thanx much!
11  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: Successive Recordings on Different Channels on: March 24, 2006, 08:26:52 AM
I understood your question--the reason I asked if you had a digital cable box was that there's a feature (with Comcast anyway) where the box will automatically change to the channel you want for the show you designate--this way you can accomplish what you're trying to do. Otherwise, I don't think it'd be possible.

yes--one of the things I was trying with that config was starting the recording myself (as you suggested) and then turning the tv off. I let it go for a few minutes and it recorded fine. Set up the timer for later that night, and got nothing.

It's kind of weird because it works great as long as the tv is on--I've been making sure all my timer settings were correct too. When I did the vcr out set up, I don't even get the menu screen--it's just blank (even w/the vcr on)

(thanx for the quick responses)

hate to say it but now I'm having problems--I somehow had it hooked up thru my vcr and was able to timer record, but like an idiot I unhooked it to try another config since my tv has outputs on the back. I connected the cables from the out terminals on my digital cable box to the In on the recorder, then the out from the recorder to In on the tv. I get the picture, menu etc--everything seems great. But when I set the timer and turn the tv off (leaving the cable box and recorder on), it won't record anything. If the tv's on--great, once I turn it off--nothing (yes the recorder timer is set to On). I tried tonight to go out from the vcr, in to the recorder, out from the recorder, in to the tv--no menu or anything--I dont know what I'm doing wrong.

Do you by any chance have digital cable which normally includes a cable box?
15  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: what are we doing wrong on: March 21, 2006, 01:08:14 PM
When you have the unit on and the tv on the correct channel, are you getting the neuros menu screen? And if so, when you go to the recording function, are you getting the preview screen showing what's playing on the television? If not, then something's definitely not hooked up correctly. Once you see what you want to record playing in the preview screen, you should be good to go.

hope this helps

also, check out these instructions--they helped me alot in getting it set up correctly (even though i'm recording for playback on a psp)
