1  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: PSP 2.8 on: July 27, 2006, 11:22:28 AM
Once the 2.8 firmware update for the PSP is out we will test our unit here in the office and post our results. Until we do this I would recommend not updating.

When you plug your unit in with the USB2.0 connection, if you look under My Computer there is no mention of a hard drive other then C: ? Are you plugging the cable into a USB2.0 slot on your computer and not a USB1.1?

3  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Neuros Digital Audio Computer - I need help! / Re: NII Turns Itself On on: July 27, 2006, 10:45:40 AM
Is your unit plugged into the wall charger when this happens or is it happening at all times? If you disconnect the player from the backpack and look at the pins on the back, do any seem bent or out of place?

4  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Neuros Digital Audio Computer - I need help! / Re: N1 Firmware and Power Question on: July 27, 2006, 10:44:00 AM
I would recommend trying the newest firmware, 2.28. It can be found under the Support/Updates section of our website. I have heard that with the newest firmware some units start up automatically and some don't.

Inside the zipped file called Ver 2.0.12 NTSC is a file called vcr4800.bin . Take vcr4800.bin and put it on your memory stick. DO not place it in any folders. Place your stick in the R2 and go to update. Feel free to call or email support if you are still having problems.

We have not tested HDs larger then 80GB and because of that we can not recommend or assure you that it will work.

7  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Software / Re: Neuros sync manager saving music issue on: June 06, 2006, 10:43:47 AM
1) The Neuros will only copy music from the unit to the drive where the sync manager software is. You would have to pull the music from the unit to your PC, and then onto the external HD.

2)To put the music on a new computer you can either pull it from the CDs you have backed up or you can use the sync manager to copy the music from your MP3 player to the PC.

8  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Software / Re: will the n2 operate on plugged in power only? on: June 06, 2006, 10:32:23 AM
In theory you should be able to use the unit despite the battery being dead. Of course it would be more likely to randomly shut off or just give your trouble in general if you are running the unit off of a dead battery. We plan on stocking replacement batteries for a few years so feel free to contact us when if you ever need/want to replace your battery.

9  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Neuros Digital Audio Computer - I need help! / Re: Neuros Manager cant locate tracks to add on: March 22, 2006, 01:36:06 PM
I am pretty sure you can not add tracks to NSM if they are on a physical CD. Browse for the tracks that are on your computer, not on a disc and see if you can find them that way. As a side note, please do not discuss P2P programs or websites that promote file sharing. We are strictly anti -piracy at Neuros and do not support the stealing of content.

10  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Neuros Digital Audio Computer - I need help! / Re: neuros do not switch off. on: March 20, 2006, 12:06:30 PM
In case anyone else wanted to know what to do in this situation, here is the instructions we often give out.

Turn the unit off by holding up on the joystick and pressing the Play button.
With the unit turned off and no cables attached, press and hold the 1 preset button, the 5 preset button and the Play button at the same time. You should boot into Diagnosis mode.

Right click on NAND (this is the internal flash chip on the player). Right click on Revive Bad Blocks disk and click YES when asked if you want to continue. Reviving Bad Blocks or Formatting the NAND will not affect the music on your hard drive.

After the Revive Bad Blocks step is complete, select Format NAND. Click YES.
When this step is completed, left click to return to the Diagnosis Menu. Select Exit.

Sync'ing between the two ports is the same except for speed, of course. I only use USB1.0 at my house but 2.0 at work and both do the same things.

12  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Neuros Digital Audio Computer - I need help! / Re: Will the Neuros take a pre-formattted hard drive? on: March 14, 2006, 11:29:20 AM
The hard drive will have to match the specifics of the ones we use (rpm speed, physical size, etc). It sounds like as long as the drive are near identical and formated correctly on your computer they should work. As for dj_ion_stl(at)hotmail.com, is the hard drive new or used? Does it work on your computer's IDE cable?

At this point we are still unsure if we will have a N2 to N3 upgrade program. If we decide to, you know the first place you will hear about it is on this site. And before you ask, I do not have a firm date on when the N3 will be comming out. [}:)]

If you could go into more detail on this 'screen of death' we might be able to troubleshoot a bit. Are there any error codes?

If the battery is too low, the unit will not power up or be able to sync up with your computer. I would recommend letting just the backpack charge overnight and then try syncing up. I would also recommend having the unit plugged in while putting music on it. All the spinning and writing to the hard drive takes alot of power.
