Inside the zipped file called Ver 2.0.12 NTSC is a file called vcr4800.bin . Take vcr4800.bin and put it on your memory stick. DO not place it in any folders. Place your stick in the R2 and go to update. Feel free to call or email support if you are still having problems.

Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Software / Re: Neuros sync manager saving music issue

1) The Neuros will only copy music from the unit to the drive where the sync manager software is. You would have to pull the music from the unit to your PC, and then onto the external HD.
2)To put the music on a new computer you can either pull it from the CDs you have backed up or you can use the sync manager to copy the music from your MP3 player to the PC.

Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Software / Re: will the n2 operate on plugged in power only?

In theory you should be able to use the unit despite the battery being dead. Of course it would be more likely to randomly shut off or just give your trouble in general if you are running the unit off of a dead battery. We plan on stocking replacement batteries for a few years so feel free to contact us when if you ever need/want to replace your battery.

In case anyone else wanted to know what to do in this situation, here is the instructions we often give out.
Turn the unit off by holding up on the joystick and pressing the Play button. With the unit turned off and no cables attached, press and hold the 1 preset button, the 5 preset button and the Play button at the same time. You should boot into Diagnosis mode.
Right click on NAND (this is the internal flash chip on the player). Right click on Revive Bad Blocks disk and click YES when asked if you want to continue. Reviving Bad Blocks or Formatting the NAND will not affect the music on your hard drive.
After the Revive Bad Blocks step is complete, select Format NAND. Click YES. When this step is completed, left click to return to the Diagnosis Menu. Select Exit.
