howreya Derek,
thanks for the reply, i am not looking for a recorder to do things professionally, an mp3 player first so i think i will go for it and order one today. hope it works out of the box, been reading some of those previous threads. at least the company support is good. you don't by chance know if there are any agents in europe? neuros recommended americantechpushers.com but it would good to find someone closer to home. thanks again for your help, cheers, hugh.

Hi all,
i am a sound recordist and i am looking for an mp3 player that i can also you to record some atmos to occasionally. the Neuros appears to be perfect for my needs but i have a couple of concerns. 1. i know the product is coming the end of it's cycle should i hold off buying one for this reason and does anyone know when the next is due (i realise this might be the $64,000 question). 2. i read on another site that it takes a long time, up to ten seconds, to boot up into record mode. is anyone using the neuros 2 happily as a recording device and what would they comment. 3. i would love to use it in conjunction with my mac. i know there is 3rd party software to do this i am wondering is it very technical cause i would like something straight forward that didnt involve programming in a base language. in other words is it easy with the mac and is anyone using it with a mac?
or should i just say screw the above and buy one anyway. i would really really appreciate if anyone could offer advice on any of the above. cheers, hugh.
