Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - Feedback & Discussion / Re: telnet/ssh/other? remote access

I've had good luck with Telnet command: open 192.168.1.100 login as root no password.
Serial connection with null modem cable I use Ttermpro or Procomm 115200, N81, no software or hardware support will access the menu, then you can use the arrow keys.
Other than that I have had nothing but grieff trying to get a Linux station up and running correctly to use the OSD remote boot. The documentation is out there but its not too straight forward for all. But I'll keep trying till I get it and report someday my results. Would love a detailed step by step build of a debian 386 workstation that includes the OSD instalation. One of my major problems is a dialup connection with no way to connect the Linux station to the net. So downloading data is slow, interrupted and limited, then transferring the data to the workstation. Thats where the ftp feature in Procomm shines. Some additional programs are not included in the debian 15 CD disk load that the OSD build needs. But for less than $25 for the disks and an old computer its worth it.
One of the most frustrating adventures I have attempted. Never give up. lol The more we learn the more we find we dont know Always reminds me of the sign my Dad had up that read "THINK" Sorry I got off subject a little

Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - Feedback & Discussion / Re: Ethernet/remote access status

Running Windows XP using Ttermpro I could access the OSD using TCIP, Telnet, Port #23; 192.168.1.100. I could copy OSD files to a mounted device but I could not mount a new device. You can get around the directorys and copy files from one mounted device to another, but because the OSD is a read only device you can not edit any files on the unit. I have not had any luck copying files from the Windows drives through the Lan to a mounted device on the OSD, or accessing the Lan through the OSD.

Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Having troubles with the Settings Menu for Remote IR Learning

Seeing my new remote never seemed to work I went to see if the IR Learing section would reconize any of the commands from the Neuros remote, It does'nt. But I did learn the using another remote I could create new commands. I just cant rename the command or exit out of the learning mode without rebooting. It did save the learned command and it does work but I can never rename the command or exit out of this learning mode without a reboot. Am I missing some keyboard key command to exit out?

Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Re: File Browser: reading from USB

I upgraded to the 3.20-0.16 version and found that the only way I could get a usb drive connected was to pwower down the OSD then plug it back in, then it would find the usb drive. If the OSD rebooted it could not find the usb drive.
