Just opened the box, plugged everything... But it just won't recognize three of my four CompactFlash cards (tried a 15MB, a 128MB, a 256MB and a 512MB... All SanDisk and Lexar). Only the 512MB is recognized by the unit...

What's the problem?!

Not sure, if you can try to format a card with the unit.

I can't format the cards because the unit doesn't see them... The 512MB card works fine.

I seem to have the same problem.  I tried both a 6gb microdrive and a now a 4gb.  System doesn't see em.  Trying to format seems to have no effect.  So far I've tried formating on the psp and then moving it, but that didn't seem to work either.  help?

If you are having a problem with your CF or MS DUO card recognizing the Recorder 2, please contact support@neurosaudio.com as soon as possible.

Emailed you yesterday around 1pm EST but never heard anything back.  An auto-response would be nice to at least acknowledge that you got the email.

A list of tested storage cards is available on the technical specifications page; http://www.neurostechnology.com/store/recorder2_specs.asp

We are continually testing different brands of flash media and new firmware options to support additional types of flash cards.  We will update the specifications page accordingly.

Alot of Compact Flash storage, whether small or large capacity can be used in one electronic device but not another.
I have a 1GB Sandisk that I use in the recorder but my Nikon digital cam does not recognize the same CF.
My PC will.

I found a software program that corrected the problem. Its called
Storage Tools from www.softwinter.com

It has worked for me.[Cheesy]

I did more investigating about this issue and discovered some interesting facts:
Windows Operating Systems format the clusters (byte grouping of data) in different ways depending on the detected volume size. Do not allow Windows 98/ME/2K/XP to format using FAT 32 or NTFS.  I know Windows XP using FAT 16 (or FAT 12) will select a cluster size from 2KB to 64KB.
I wonder what cluster size the embedded software of the Neuros MPEG 4 formats at?
I use my CF cards for my recorder and my digital cam. I found this nifty site that fixes the problem with the CF card problem as you described.

On the Neuros Recorder spec page ( http://www.neurostechnology.com/store/recorder2_specs.asp ) it has a Storage Card Compatibility list and mentions "SanDisk CF (tested up to 1GB)"

Does this mean therefore the Ultra II cards (up to 1GB) also work in this device?
