Hey all,
I recieved my review unit of the Neuros Recorder 2 yesterday, courtesy of Johan, and I have some questions before I write my review. Basically, I want to know the optimal settings to use, and if there are any firmware updates available, basically so my review will be up to date with the latest fixes and the best settings. Any help is appreciated. I'll keep you updated when my review is finished, and I'll post a link somewhere in these forums.
Cheers,
-Adam

I will let users comment, but here are a few tips:

We updated the manual under the support section. I know most do not read it, but you will have a few things in there that might not be obvious by browsing through the menu.

If you have a PSP, WQVGA is great for letter box format unless you have subtitles (it cuts off the top and bottom of the baclk band on the screen).

Unless you playback content on a TV, there is really no need to use the VGA fine and superfine settings, use QVGA. Besides, most handhelds (PSP included) can not playback movies recorded at high bit rates and VGA resolution. This is why VGA files are saved in a separate TV folder.

Once you have set the resolution and quality of recording you want, you don't need to go through the on-screen menu to set things up again. Power the Recorder and press the record button. The red light will confirm that you are recording.

If you have a camcorder, the Auto Record settings is really useful as recording starts as soon as the a signal is fed to the recorder (the recorder has to be on). It can also be used with a TiVo or any PVR/DVR unit. That way, you can program your DVR the way you want and record content from different channels (quite nice considering the recorder does not have a tuner). I don't have a PVR myself so I can not tell you how to set that up, but others might be able to give you some tips.

Thanks, FJ. I'm almost done with the review, and I'll post a link here in the forums after I eMail it to Johan. It's holding up pretty well so far.
