Today while I was recording (DC power via 12v adaptor)first my picture was getting some signal noise recorded, when unplugged cleared up. Look s like I need some noise filter when in DC in mode.
Secondly, after 20 mins. while recording, screen jumped to many YELLOW bars running across and locked up. RESET worked, but lost all the video footage! Any hints on what happened?

This may sound strange, but when you see that the next time, try just letting it go and see if it still records.

A couple of months ago I started using gb-pvr software to record to DivX, but when I used my 442 to do the recording I'd get this (ever since 2 firmware versions before).   I posted my results, but as I recall it would actually record and it was just a goofy screen issue that did not affect the recording.  I suspected it was something related to having the timer on, but I dont' have conclusive evidence of that.

Can you try this and let me know if it still records?

Aerodog,

Go into the files management section and format the 442, this should get rid of any corruption on the HD.

Today, I tried again to record with DC power. Got a squeel through audio and fuzzy bars that would skate across the screen during recording. Not all the time, just during most of the 30 min recording.  I downloaded the .asp file to DVD data disk, and now have reformatted the 442 ( as your post suggested).
Hopefully this will clear it up, would not be usable with audio and video problems!?*![B)]
Today the bars problem, were just fuzzy lines running horizontal across the screen. They were in sync with audio "noise".

What is the video source that you are trying recording from?

i get this sometimes... what happens with me is that the dc plug is not seated all the way... and i get interference...  so in recording mode play with the DC plug by twisting it or pushing it in. Also try the video cable on that goes in the the 442 to see if you have any improvements...

Also...when i had this issue i fixed it during my recording and when i went to play it back i saw that it recorded all the video interference.

I hope this helped...
