Just got the new mpeg4. we have tried all these things but nothing seems to work.
followed directions in information book.
inserted memory stick. connected to tv. connected to dvd. connected to power.  turned mpeg4 on.  no menu.

that didnt work so tried this simple test:
connected scart from dvd to mpeg4.  connected scart from mpeg4 to TV.
definatly on the right channel.  screen blank.

and also tried this:
connected scart from dvd to mpeg4. pressed play on DVD.  pressed record on mpeg4.  red light comes on. green light already on. recorded for few minutes.
Took memory stick out of mpeg4 and put into PSP.  offers a menu of recording but when we select the item it is blank.

Are we doing something very simple wrong?

Please help.
Many thanks.

Sue

When you have the unit on and the tv on the correct channel, are you getting the neuros menu screen? And if so, when you go to the recording function, are you getting the preview screen showing what's playing on the television? If not, then something's definitely not hooked up correctly. Once you see what you want to record playing in the preview screen, you should be good to go.

hope this helps

also, check out these instructions--they helped me alot in getting it set up correctly (even though i'm recording for playback on a psp)

Sue-

Just make sure that:
1. A green light comes on when you connect the recorder to an electrical outlet
2. Connect the Recorder to the video source with the AV cable provided (AV In on the recorder end)
3. Connect the Recorder to your TV with the other set of AV cable provided (AV out on the recorder end)
4. Make sure you TV in on the correct video channel (like for a DVD or VCR, you have to use the TV/Video button on your TV remote).
