Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I couldn't find the answer in my searching.

When recording video with the recorder 2, is the audio recorded in stereo?

Mine does.
If you have stereo in, it records both channels.
The cables that come with it provide 2 channel composite in

Yes the NR2 does record in stereo as Gadget geek says. Red and white RCA composite jacks are for left and right audio channels

Actually that would be white and red RCA plugs are for left and right audio channels, respectively.  Assuming they did it like everyone else in the world.

Sorry Ex-Navy, I couldn't resist!

How's the AutoRecord device coming by the way, or is it?

Although white and red cables provide stereo capability, that doesn't force the Recorder to use the information that way - for example, the NR1 had stereo cables but recorded in mono (and LOUSY mono at that).

I fully agree with you both, I did not quote Red and white respectively, just stating they are audio
Trying to help to see if it is a cabling problem or an input problem

Auto record circuit has been tested and small modifications have to be made. Mainly how to house the unit.
