Hi Pat,
There is no delay between key presses, however; the R2 will power up
and go through its splash screen. That is the only delay.
We drive a IR LED through a PIC. The same circuit board supplies 5Volts to the R2 and 12V for a headcam.
We will be working on including a mic preamp (to line level) and
a mux line in so that audio can be mixed with the video.
I have successfully mixed two audio sources and recorded live video
at the same time.
I thought it would be very cool to design an umbilical cord for
line audio, mic, power and video in to the unit for portable ops.
I hope to record some spectacular video with mixed audio in the next
week or so.
Any way that I can help you out, don't hesitate to ask

Thanks Ex-Navy, I am 100 miles from civilisation at present and did not have scart adaptor etc to hand. It would seem that R2's for the UK market are supplied with scart connectors but to my mind rca would be a better choice. Oh well at least I know now.
I have read your posts regarding the auto record feature, do you know if Neuros have fixed this yet ?. Also if I generate an external control signal what delay (if any) is required between commands/simulated key presses ?.
My application is on a small catamaran so I hope to just provide a single control to start/stop recording.
Cheers
