Due to a minor bug in firmware version 1.36, updating to later versions (1.38 and higher) using Neuros Sync Manager’s automatic process, requires you to do the following simple steps:
1. In NSM, go to the Help menu and select “Check for Firmware Updates”. NSM will automatically download the latest firmware to your PC. |
2. Using the Neuros, make a short recording using the internal microphone. To do this, simply double click the Orange button on the top right portion of the Neuros. Allow the device to record for 5 seconds or so, and then click the Orange button again to stop recording. |
3. Connect your Neuros to your PC using the USB cable. |
4. In NSM, go to the Tools menu and select “Synchronize”. This process will ensure that the latest firmware is properly loaded onto the Neuros. |
5. If desired, delete the recording either using the menus on Neuros or through NSM, by selecting the track, right clicking and selecting “Delete”. |

Please contact our Customer Support department at Support@neurosaudio.com or 1-866-5-Neuros. We believe that this is a hardware-related issue that may require us to replace the “player” portion of your Neuros (the backpack needn’t be returned) free of charge.

The Neuros is compatible with Windows 98 SE, Me, 2000 and XP. The Neuros USB drivers are NOT compatible with Windows 98.

Disconnect from USB after file transfer is complete. Neuros is not operational when connected via USB.

1. Reboot Neuros by pressing and holding Up button and Play button at the same time. |
2. Press Play button again. This will turn on the Neuros. |
3. On PC, go to My Computer folder. Right click on drive associated with Neuros. Select Properties, then Tools, then Error Checking. Select “Check Now”. Once this process is complete, return to Neuros Synchronization Manager and perform synchronization again. |

Error occurs during synchronization: “Database file creation failed. Exception System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array.”
This is a known issue with Neuros Sync Manager v1.20 and below. This error occurs when Artist, Title and/or Album names consists of all “special” characters (e.g. accents). To resolve this issue, search for tracks with album, title and artist names which look out of place and then replace them with something a bit more meaningful. Select to view all tracks by clicking on “tracks” in the “folders” area in the upper left hand side of NSM. An easy way to find the “bad” tracks is to sort by each one of the categories in NSM (click on Title, Artist and Album in the Library of Tracks). This will bring these titles with special characters to the top. You can then rename them by right clicking on them and selecting “properties”.
This issue will be resolved in the next version of NSM which is due in beta soon. Please check back here for updates or please contact Neuros Customer Support for further questions.
