My Neuros HD 20G 2.0 backpack isn't detecting its power cord anymore.
I mostly use my Neuros at work. It stays plugged in, and occasionally will spend a night plugged in and paused. Two days ago, I left it this way, and yesterday I noticed that the backlight was no longer on. Now it would appear that the backpack doesn't believe that it's plugged in.
One other thing that I noticed is that when I take off the brain, I can see the backpack's LED blink very faintly. It looks like the single-blink pattern of a full battery. I never noticed this very faint blink before, but that doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't there.
As far as I can tell, the unit isn't getting power from the power cord anymore. I know that there's a switch in there that detects the presence of a power cord, so I thought that maybe it was still charging even though it didn't think it was. I need to do more testing to be sure, but I don't think it's getting the juice.
I tried blowing out the power jack, and that didn't seem to do it.
Any thoughts? It's way out of warranty at this point, but I'm relatively confident with a soldering iron. Does this sound like it could be something I can fix? I'm worried that it's not, since it seemed to break while unattended.

I've fixed it! Opened her up and saw a resistor that was spanning two transistors (or whatever they are) that looked like it had been hand-soldered. I think it might have been from the repair job done a while back. Anyway, the resistor had come unsoldered on one end. I zapped it with the soldering gun, closed it up, and it's charging once again.

...or so I thought!
I get to work today, and it's not working anymore. Actually, it turned on when I plugged the cord in, like it should, but it immediately seemed to think that it was again unplugged. Now it doesn't detect the plug at all.
At least it's fully charged, so I can listen to it today.
I'll double-check my solder job tonight. Maybe I didn't quite get it. The terminal that had come unsoldered was cut just a tad shorter than perhaps it should have been.

Well, don't I feel silly. The reason it didn't get juice at work was because the power strip was turned off there. Well, I'm sure that loose resistor needed soldering anyway.
