As a follow-on to my previous post describing 3 years of my positive experience with the Neuros OSD, I've published 12 very brief video clips, all showing the same brief video scene, each with different resolution and bandwidth settings. I hope these will help people evaluate the quality and performance of the OSD's recording capabilities, and the available tradeoffs. These 12 clips now form a 4th page of my (formerly 3-page) review of the Neuros OSD. That 4th page is here:

Excellent work!

This might be a good thing to add to the wiki. Would you mind?

Ummm... Don't forget my samples from last year! Wink

http://www.heyrick.co.uk/blog/read.php?diary=20100410 - two thirds of the way down the page.

Note that this scene was specifically chosen for a combination of rapid movement plus mute flat background/sky colours, two things that really show up MPEG compression.

Best wishes,

Rick.

PS: I tracked down the interference that I mention [so ought to redo these video clips soon!] It is a side effect of the S-video connection requiring the composite lead to be connected (via the multi-plug), this lead acting as an antenna for interference. I think what the OSD needed is a little "link" inside so people only using S-video could "disconnect" the composite input entirely.
