I read that the neuros uses tags rather than file names for identifying the songs, but I didn't see what tags it was using. I was wondering with ogg files if the neuros used the id3 or the ogg tags, or if it depends on the software you're using to upload the music.

Depends on the software you use to build the database. NeurosDBM reads ogg tags just fine, NSM does too.
