I recently purchased the Neuros II (~3 weeks ago, without a HD backpack), and charged it fully before first using. All my audio files stored on it are ogg vorbis at q-0, and my battery perfomance is 2 hours, maybe 2 1/2 hours maximum. I read in the forums that the Neuros II draws more power when playing ogg vorbis files (than mp3s), but is my battery life normal? This occurs on any quality ogg vorbis encoding, and without using my-fi or having the backlight on much, and about 3/4 volume. Thank You in advance for your responses.

What firmware version? I think one of them lets you keep wi-fi on even with headphones and that is the default... check for the wifi icon on the screen. I'm just asking because the time sounds about right if you are on wifi.. the extra load affects runtime more than with the HD backpack.

i assume your using a small backpack, you should get alot more out of it than that even with old firmware. I would give support a call and ask them what they think.

I am using just the flash memory on the Neuros II (no Hard Drive Backpack), I updated the firmware first to 2.25, and after using it (battery life problem) I upgraded to 2.26-os.17 (open source garbage branch) and still had the battery life problems. No the MY-Fi isn't on - I didn't know neuros had wi-fi Don :). It's the garbage branch that has the ability for both my-fi and line out, can anyone post their approximate battery times for me? If this continues, I will contact customer service to see if they can help me with the problem. Thanks again Neuros users.
