Hello all. I know many people in here praise the tech support staff a lot, but I haven't been able to get any help from them. I was hoping someone in here might know something that would help. :-)
I installed the new battery from DI late yesterday afternoon, but it has yet to hold a charge. It's been almost 20 hours, but it won't do anything off the battery except warn me the battery's low and shut down. It appears to be connecting fine to the power cable. I'm getting the 3 blinks from the light near the USB2 jack (which apparently indicates that it is charging from what I've read in here) and the power connector is firm. It works fine when it is plugged into the wall jack. So it doesn't appear to be a connection issue, and I am starting to wonder if the new battery is any good. I have nothing else to try that in.
I tried recharging it for a few hours when the main unit was completely disconnected from the HD, as I saw some people had tried this in the forum, and erasing/recovering NAND memory just in case that would do anything. But as soon as I disconnect the power, it still flashes the "low power" warning and shuts down.
I couldn't find any instructions on replacing the battery, but it appeared pretty simple, so I finally just opened the Neuros up and plugged the new one in when tech support didn't respond to my questions. Is there anything that's not too obvious I might not have done? It appears that all you do is open the Neuros HD, plug in the battery, and close it up again. Are there any other steps?
Thanks for any suggestions. I'm reluctant to just send the whole thing in to DI since they seem to have left me on my own. Plus I'd hate to sit around waiting for them to return if it's just something stupid I didn't know to do.

Just to let everyone know, still no luck getting the Neuros to charge. No reply from tech support either, so I could still use some help.
A reply from tech support, either here or as a reply to my emails, would be especially great...

Try putting your old one back in and see if it charges.
Did you get this new battery from DI or did you buy one that looked like it would fit? |

Thanks for the message. No, it came from DI. I just tried the old battery last night and waited to see if it would charge this morning. So far, I'm not having any luck there either. So it looks like I'm down to sending the whole thing off any way. The only other thing I can think of is if, somehow, it is charging but the Neuros isn't detecting it correctly. But either way, it seems like I'll have to ship it out.
This is really weird to me. I don't see any signs of damage or loose connections. The power pack plugs in snugly. It appears to be getting power from the charger--in fact, it has to be because it runs when it is plugged in. It doesn't make much sense.
Anyway, thanks for responding. Unless someone knows of something stupid (and simple to fix) that can make it act this way, I guess I'm gonna be out one Neuros for a while. For however long it takes DI to get it back to me, any way. My luck with them hasn't been as great as others have had so far.

| I had a charging problem once. They had to replace the board inside the backpack. |

For those who had to send there's in for repair, I was just wondering how long it was before you heard from any one about it? They are still ignoring my requests for information about this. I could understand that if there was a way to find out about our stuff online, but there isn't that I know of. (Or is there?)
Did they email you? If they're trying to call me, they probably won't get me unless they call in the evenings--meanwhile, I'm left without my Neuros.
Thanks
