1  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Neuros Digital Audio Computer - I need help! / Re: Neuros won't turn on... on: October 31, 2006, 09:37:25 PM
Well, I believe there are the schematics somewhere online (http://open.neurosaudio.com/extra/NeurosSchematics.zip, (and somewhere on my computer, but I don't know where) and you could probably test some points using knowledge from that.  I believe the points are labeled?  I'm not sure on that, but I think that might be your only way to discover where energy is flowing, and where it isn't.  maybe I'm just full of hot air, but I think you can at least find out something doing that . . .

So, you have the lock in the down position.   Grin  That's been my problem several times.

Yet I've also had trouble with the physical jack on the backpack coming unsoldered.  I'm not sure if you feel comfortable opening it up to look, but that's also a possibility.

But you'd probably want to search around for more tips before doing anything that would void your warrenty/something your not comfortable with.

Hmm, it sounds like you're having the same problem that I was having.  A couple of weeks ago, I brought my Neuros to them, and explained that my dad and I had tried everything in our power to trouble shoot the problem.  I phsyically handed my Neuros to the tech support guy, and said it had something to do with power on the backpack.  That was around April 25th? or so.  Today at 3:28, a package returned, containing my "fully functioning battlestation" . . . I mean, MP3 player.[:p]

I haven't heard what the actual problem was . . . but it would be nice to know.  If I found out what they did, I'll definately send you the answer.

I just figured I needed to post something, in my jubilation around not having to use CDs in the car anymore [8D]

yeah, I think that they were saying that the signal would weaken.  idk, it might just be the nature of the cable?

You also might get magnetic interference depending on where it was routed.  idk, I've ran out of helpful ideas.  ^_^

Yeah, I think we've already talked about that.  I don't know if we came to a conclusion though . . .  but I think the resolution was that the longer the wires were, the more distortion there would be in the signal.  How much?  I wouldn't know, but I believe that was the only problem with that idea.  I thought it was a good idea at the time too.  I still not convinced that it isn't, but nothing has come of it in either sense.

Interesting . . .

Well, all I know, is that I enojoy updating firmware manually . . . maybe a little too much [:p]

8  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Software / Re: Drag and drop adding of music? on: February 21, 2006, 10:09:07 PM
Well, there I suppose I could point you towards Sorune . . . www.sorune.com . . . you can add all your music and files in Windows Explorer, they use Sorune's rebuild database function, and it will do it all by itself, with whatever is on the Neuros in the music directory.  Sound simple/fast/easy/convenient enough?

In any case, take a look at Sorune.  Using it to add music, it doesn't keep track of the database on the computer, it creates a database solely from what is on the Neuros to begin with, and what changes you make.

That help?

The latest version of firmware does have a file "browser" in it, yet it seems to be rather slow to scroll through lots of files.

As far as Garbage is concerned, I'm not totally postive as to what the differences are.  I'm sure it does explain how it differs, just it's a very long list.  You'd have to get someone else's opinion on it.

10  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Software / Re: Tracks removed from neuros? on: April 26, 2005, 08:40:36 PM
I believe the music is still on the Neuros, it's just removed from the database.  So if you don't have that music anywhere else, but still want it, you could use some software to retrieve it.  I don't know any good utilities for this though.  I once did it when I did something really wierd, (I don't remember what) and my 12 or so hour long recordings were gone.  I think I disabled an option that brought the tracks over to the computer, and I didn't search for orphans, and . . . I don't know, all I know is that it was totally my fault.  And that I was being stupid that day.  [xx(]

Does any other sync system do this?

Do we need this stickied anymore?

I believe this information is well know, at least to us now . . .

Or maybe we just want it as a general information base for newcomers . . .

If it is for n00bs then we would want it in a different section.

Or, we could just keep it here . . .

Somehow, I feel retarded because mine works[Cheesy]

I may have to use IE for now, but I don't have to like it.

I'm just too lazy to be in linux right now . . .

O.K.

Kool,  [^]

Sounds better than ever.

Well . . .

It still is technically a test unit right??

So, i think it should just be a 'regular' upgrade.

Pardon my if I'm being insensitive, it is annoying to have to make choices like that I bet for a lot of people.

O, for another thing . . .

Do we have to act on this immediatly??
Or can we wait for another month or so?
Cause I'm going on a trip next month, and want it for it.
But if it wont get back to me until mid-trip, that wont work.
Could i have it 'rush' assembled?
That might be a little too pompous thought . . .[:I]

*Edit:Wow, sorry.  Didn't see that the offer lasts until July.
So, I'll probably wait until Mid-April.  Kool.
