step by step.... ------------------------------------------- 1. download the firmware file
Easier way is dump a folder on your neuros called "firmware" then dump the firmware file into it..
Power up the neuros and then hold DOWN and the POWER button until it turns off.. DO NOT LET GO OF THE BUTTONS..
Once it's off, let go of the buttons..
Then wait a second, then press DOWN and POWER down first then power.. You should be at a screen asking to flash from firmware found and/or it might ask you to insert the power cable.. -----------------------------------------
thanks tecchie
You can let go of the buttons when it displays the shutting down message.

Is there a good single place where the general feature differences are listed? Going through huge lists of version changes is not very practical.

I suppose the known bugs column at the bottom isn't very reliable. Most of those were fixed. The bug fixes and added features column is good, though :)

I just copied his changelogs and reorganised it. Besides, it's a wiki. If it's wrong, fix it! Or tell me what is wrong, and I'll fix it.

I've already merged the latest additions to the official 2.28 firmware on my branch. (Yes, that means File Browsing and Neutris).
Unfortunately, i can't test it since i'm still waiting for a hardware replacement. Once i have a working unit, i'll release the new revision.
Thank you all for the interest.

Excellent to hear! Is there a way for the rest of us to get a hold of this, before the "official" testing and release? I would be happy to try it out and let you know of any serious bugs.

Me too, recently converted to the garbage branch a couple of weeks ago, would love to try out the new version. Also can you turn off the car mode on the new one as my player occasionally turns itself off in the middle of a song if it (i guess) gets a voltage drop while on batt.

So... anything happen to this? Do you have a beta we can test, perhaps?
Oh, also - a side question... did the recording bug get fixed?

Sorry, i still do not have the hardware to play the tests on. And i refuse to release anything without testing it myself, for your own health shake. No progresses on the recording bug (or any other new functionality) either, for the very same reason. I'll keep hacking on this thing once i have a working N, but unfortunately this is still not the situation right now. And, believe me, no one is nearly as pissed off by that than myself.

Hey Neuros-Team, give that guy a working unit! He's begging and you won't hear him! :)
Honestly, I'm even thinking of sending him my spare-one for testing-purpose! :)

I'm having problems with flashing.
- copied the woid.hex to a folder on the Neuros
- disconnect usb cable
- pressed down + play to shut down
- pressed down + play to turn on
- at prompt, plug in usb cable
- nothing happens. buttons don't respond. screen still says "Please Plug in USB cable and Download Software... V03.14.02.06"
Where did I go wrong? TIA... |
