Did you purchase the 442 through an authorized Neuros reseller?

Hello Mike,

Are the songs from "My Downloads" copy protected?  Is "My Downloads" a music service?

We have experienced a similar situation with purchased music downloaded from itunes music service; these files will not play in the Neuros, because they are copy protected files.

What is the video source that you are trying recording from?

Hello Mark,

What setting are you recording at(WQVGA, QVGA or TV VGA)?  Are you using the econonmy, normal, fine or superfine quality setting in the recorder menu?  You can access the menu by going into the full screen recording mode and pressing the menu button.

Also, have you tried recording from a DVD player or another video source other than your VCR?

Try recording from a different video source and see if you still get the same results.

This the first time I have heard of this problem with the 442. Are the supplied cables you received with the unit damaged in any way, are there any bare wires on the supplied AV cables? Also, what model VCR are you using and does the VCR have a video out or are you just converting a coaxial to a line out?

If you have the right connections and the answer is no to most of my questions, make sure you have everything backed up to the PC, then select the files management icon, once you in the files management section, press menu and go ahead and format the 442.

If you are still having problems with only getting a B&W; picture through the PVR mode please contact support@neurosaudio.com

Aerodog,

Go into the files management section and format the 442, this should get rid of any corruption on the HD.

25  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Neuros Digital Audio Computer - I need help! / Re: Switching songs mid playback. on: March 16, 2006, 04:47:46 PM
Go ahead and format the NAND disk:

With the power cord and USB unattached and the unit powered down, press and hold down the 1 and 5 preset buttons and the Play buttons at the same time. You should boot into Safe Mode.
Using the large button select Format NAND and right-click. Select Yes and right click to erase all the data on the disk. Formatting the NAND (the flash chip on the player) may take longer depending on which firmware version you currently have, and the back light may also blink. When finished, select Exit and return to the main menu.
Sincerely,
Neuros Support
26  Neuros 442 Personal Media Player / Neuros 442 - I need help! / Re: MPEG1 support on: March 16, 2006, 04:43:01 PM
The MPEG-1 standard was originally designed for 1.5M bit/second datarates and 352x240 resolution. Later improvements allow for up to 4M bit/second for better quality. At present MPEG-1 is the most compatible format in the MPEG family; it is playable in almost all computers and VCD/DVD players.
27  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: Volume of Audio too low on: March 16, 2006, 03:53:04 PM
The volume on the PSP is a known issue, you might be able to find a pre-amp to boost the volume on the PSP.
