Hi all:
Just got my "80GB Neuros Digital Audio Computer" and I'm
looking forward to getting started. I'm having some trouble
running NDBM (see below) and I'm wondering if there's a way
I can 'brute force' the initial import while I work on that. I've
been able to mount the Neuros on my Kubuntu 6.10 box with
no problem, but from what I've read, tracks should be copied
to a 'music' directory, and I don't see one there. Also, can I just
rsync my /media/music directory tree, or do tracks all have to
be dumped into one directory?
(If there are any java geeks out there, here's a description
of my NDBM problem:

)
Thanks,
Robert

I did as suggested and took the unit out of the backpack, plugged in the power source, and the LED does blink 3x .
Assuming thats a good sign ? Do ya have some other suggestions. Where do I find an updated driver for the Neuros II device . The wizard search comes up empty. |

You will need to connect it to your vcr's A/v Lead OUT.
The yellow, white and red on the back that are labelled "out" and run that to your recorder. Then from your recorder to the tv's A/V in (same thing: yellow red and white). Usually you have to find the channel just past 2 or 1.. AUX 1/2 or game or vcr. VERY IMPORTANT.. turn on your recorder with the remote after you have found the proper channel input. otherwise it will look like you are getting no signal. And make sure your vcr is on as well or the recorder will get no signal. Whatever channel you surf thru the recorder will "see" as well so you may record it. Hope that is not TOO confusing. And hope that helped. |

Unfortunately, that is the only way to get tracks from the Neuros back onto the PC when using NDBM...
Just go into My Computer, the Drive the Neuros is under, then the "MUSIC" folder. Everything should be in there. So if the Neuros is F:, the files are just in F:\MUSIC They may be sorted a little differently than otherwise, but they'll all be there. |

Hi all, I bought the mpeg4 several months ago and did get it to work but I don't have it hooked up correctly. I have to disconnect other devices every time I use it so obviously I'm not getting much use out of it. I need to know exactly what to do to hook it up and I have the following units: TV/Cable(no box)/DVD/VCR. Please help me- I'm not very tech savvy!

Has anyone used the MVIX (any of the 3 models) to playback files recorded with the MPEG-4 Recorder ? Can you comment on the quality of the playback of these recording through the MVIX?

You might want to set the quality to fine. Maybe your computer can handle superfine. I know my playback videos tend to freeze when i have different applications open. Also when i use super fine i get the stutter too. Try different settings and play around with it.

Hmm, may be the board. One way to test it out is to take the player out of the backpack, and connect the power supply. Does the little LED light at the bottom blink 3 times?
