Hi all,
I was just wondering - once On-screen menu selections are made (resolution, etc), does the Recorder2+ retain those settings even after power is removed? (power cord disconnected - not just switched off with the remote).
My application would require the settings be retained with power removed, so I'd like to know before purchasing one.
Thanks

Record MP4 files, the longest recording length is only about 14 minutes. This is a known issuse. So if you want to record for long time, you can choose record ASF file format. You were right, it worked like a charm when I switch to ASF. Now is it a known issue too that you can't change the codecs? I can change the format (AVI, ASF, MP4) without a problem but not the codecs. |

Recording on CF, MMC, USB on 3.25-0.23 will be more stable. My OSD have 3.25-0.23 installed. When I try to use MMC, the OSD won't even start recording, it is stuck in the record screen. My OSD only works with the USB hard drive. |

Hi,
After trying to use the OSD, I'm ready to return. Didn't read my 2gb SD card, but read it when I placed it into a USB converter and plugged into USB port on OSD. Tried watching 4 video files (various types - xvid, avi, mgeg) - all failed. Some were out of sync, all stopped dead after several minutes, all died/froze or rebooted when trying to fast forward. Not worth the effort or even the $100. Time to also return the 442 and buy an Archos. Gene |

Just to complement my question, which is the best combination to be able to record? For those of you currently recording hours of content, what do you use?

no subtitle support yet either. Actually, this is pretty important feature to me too, I put a bug in on this, but it sounds like it needs to be split up and better articulated (divx subtitle support v. recording closed captioning, etc) anyone who knows this stuff, please help out http://bugzilla.neurostechnology.com

The OSD cannot read NTFS. I couldn't even find an entry for it in bugzilla. I know there are issues with NTFS and Linux for obvious reasons, but others with more knowledge should post here or start an entry in bugzilla.
